There are a few other adapters from Inateck, StarTech and UGREEN that have been recommended by others, but I have not tested those myself (I have several of the older ASMedia based Eluteng adapters and one of the Neeyer adapter cables). The previously recommended Eluteng adapters now seem to be shipping with JMicron chips (according to reports from multiple forum members), so those are no longer recommended (they used to have ASMedia chips). Several ASMedia based adapters have been found to work well with the Pi4B, such as the Neeyer SATA-III to USB 3.0 adapter cable mentioned above (I have one as well and it works great). The Raspberry Pi 4 model B is out now, and it has USB 3.0, for which the JMicron 578 family of chips are not recommended (because they have broken UASP/TRIM support). The Neeyer Upgraded SATA to USB Cable, USB 3.0 SATAIII Hard Drive Adapter Cable for 2.5 Inch SSD & HDD Support UASP, 8 Inch Long seems to be the current favorite.

One must obviously pay extreme attention to the ID! The chip identifies itself with lsusb as: ID 152d:0578 (which is strange, contradicting the longer descrition, which mentions 567, but the id is 578, which is also an existing JMicron part). Mine does not (but the same SSD boots with an other usb to sata adapter - thus it is not the SSD, but the bridge).
